Hello and Welcome!
I’m Teresa Maiorano, the Registered Dietitian (RD) for Fertility Nutrition!
My goal is simple: to help make your fertility journey faster by optimizing your nutrition.
Did you know that studies show improved nutrition can boost your chances of conception by 69%. Conversely, certain foods can increase your infertility risk by a up to 200%! That’s a lot! And that’s where I step in.
I give you advice, tips, recommendations and tell you how to achieve the best nutrition for your body. That’s it! Together, we will adjust your meals and snacks, assess your intake, and address any questions or concerns you have about nutrition.
How can I do this?
I can do this because I have 2 specialized university degrees in food-related fields. Specifically, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science from the University of Guelph (go Gryphons!) and another in Food and Nutrition from Toronto Metropolitan University. In fact, I am also an active member of Dietitians of Canada, Obesity Canada, ASRM, Fertility Friends Foundation, and the Canadian Nutrition Society. As well, I edit the fertility nutrition content for PEN Nutrition.
In addition to fertility nutrition, I have a passion for cooking. Due to the fact that I have 2 Italian parents and 3 siblings, food has always been a focus in my life. This is likely what has inspired my guiding philosophy: “May there always be colours on your plate and joy at your table.”
